Access Education - Guatemala Children's Fund

Access Education - Guatemala Children's Fund is an organization that is committed to ending the 'cycle of hopelessness' which is the hallmark of illiteracy, by providing education for children in Guatemala who are unable to attend elementary school.

La Union is an extremely poor pueblo with a very high rate of illiteracy. An elementary school exists here but many children are not able to attend simply because of the prohibitive cost of books and a required school uniform. There are approximately 2,000 children in La Union. At a cost of $75.00 for each child, per year, we can provide the necessary books, a uniform and enroll one child in school. For $15,000 we can send every one of La Union's children to school.

We are also adding more classrooms so that the children can attend school during the rainy season.
